Meet The Man Who Designed Botanical Beauty
While a new product to us Grown Alchemist is one of those brands that we instantly loved. Grown Alchemist takes a revolutionary approach to skincare. The company’s unique formulations harness potent natural ingredients dosed with vitamins and antioxidants and transform some of the most potent anti-aging botanical extracts ever found. We have sat down with Co-Founder Jeremy Muijs to find more about him and Grown Alchemist's products.
Tell us a little about your background.
As young graduates, Keston and I came together to collaborate on a project which combined our passion for design and product development. It proved to be so successful that we started an international consultancy, developing products for some of the largest global brands. While conducting testing for one of our clients, we discovered ground-breaking research that proved the continuous use of natural active ingredients directly improved skin cell health, optimizing skin function and consequently reversing the signs of aging.
We went on to then launch Grown Alchemist and spent many years to perfect the products, developing formulas with a unique synergy between biology and cosmetic chemistry, creating “Bio-compatible Beauty”.
How would you describe Grown Alchemist to someone who has never heard of it?
A premium, clean beauty brand.
As your products have a very cosmopolitan aesthetic that can fit in any city in the world, what inspires you? Where do you draw inspiration from?
Our products are aligned to the design principle of form following function so for us, we seek inspiration from architectural marvels. I've always been struck by the ingenuity of architecture; the intuitive nature of the structures we live out our daily lives in. Masterful architects have a way of perceiving our needs and designing accordingly.
In the same way, our skincare is inspired by this principle of form following function. So it's no surprise that our product packaging has been inspired by the intelligence behind some of our architectural marvels.
What is the average customer of Grown Alchemist like? Is it a young, hip crowd? Or is it a very general age and style range?
In terms of age, we are fortunate enough to have a diverse customer base from Millennials to Baby Boomers and everything in-between. I personally believe that our customer's commonality is found in their desire to shop clean, natural and environmentally considerate products to enhance their complexions.
Do you think of the lives and experiences of Grown Alchemist customers when formulating your products?
Definitely. We want our skincare to be part of our customer's holistic wellness experience. Which is why we have formulated products that are natural, non-toxic, recyclable in addition to being cruelty-free with the ability to be stored easily, display beautifully and travel well.
How best would you describe a typical workday for you?
I don’t think there is such a thing! Depending on the day (and where I am in the world) I could be doing any number of things from testing new products with our R&D team to deciding on our brand’s next move with strategic retailer partnerships. No two days are the same at Grown Alchemist.
What inspires you to get out of bed every day?
The pursuit of my business passions and the incredibly talented team of people I get to work with every day.

A well-tailored suit leaves a lasting impression.
