The Chocolarder Wild Gorse Flower Milk Chocolate is made from wild gorse flowers, small yellow flowers in hedgerows that line the rugged Cornish coastal path.
The large gorse bushes provide shelter and food for many insects and birds, such as Stonechats, Dartford Warblers, and Yellowhammers. The flowers on them are a vibrant yellow and bloom in the years early sunshine.
To make this unique milk chocolate, gorse flowers are picked by hand from the prickly gorse bushes in late spring. Then they are steeped in cocoa butter pressed from Chocolarder's beans and impart their heady warm coconut scent to the milk chocolate for a unique flavor that makes it all worthwhile.
